Flakes are dried in a large furnace at high temperatures to sterilise naturally, leaving bedding clean and absorbent. The drying process ensures no fungi, spores or bacteria are present in the bedding. Once dried and dust extracted, the flakes are baled and palletised without being handled by hand. All the timber used for the bedding comes from government managed Coillte forests.
